Brazilian Jazz Concert
On October 21, my Spanish friend Lucia and I went to Valletta to see Botafogu, a Brazilian jazz band. It was an intimate setting, and the sound was great. The concert featured a Brazilian singer named Catia Werneck; she has quite a voice! The music was great! They used an array of South American percussion instruments that make fun sounds. When we were looking for the venue we met this very nice Maltese couple, looking for it also. We sat at a table with them and it was very pleasant. After the show it was pouring down rain, and the public buses had already stopped. Winter is the rainy season in Malta. And since there are no sewers or storm drains, there is no place for the water to go, hence the streets get very flooded. I mean...it looks like a river. Some cars can't move because there's so much water. So, the Maltese couple told us we could not walk and gave us a ride home. This was also my first experience in a Maltese car. It was nice!
